Urban Society borns from the saxophone player Gaetano Partipilo idea of creating a music that stays in the middle between jazz of afro-american extraction and the world of anencoded sounds that mark the time today. The result is a music charged with trasgressive elements (polirythms, unusual armonic changes, free improvisations, odd time signatures) but innovative at the same time.

At this time Urban Society is one of most modern band in Italy. They are working to new direction in jazz about melody, harmony and rhythm.

This group have recorded two "studio" and one "Live concert" album for Soul Note label
